Сountry where artisans are revered
Handicrafts are an integral part of our national values. It is a great legacy of our ancestors. Products made by our artisans are in great demand, not only in domestic markets but also in foreign markets. The decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures on further development of handicrafts and supporting artisans” on 17 November serves as an important factor in the further development of this sphere.
The round table organized by the Surkhandarya regional council of UzLiDeP and Termez city council was organized in the workshop of Khairullo Juraev, participant of the Tashabbus-2017 contest.
– Mastery in ceramics requires a lot of attention, accuracy and patience, –says he. – I have been working 20 years in the field of ceramics, which was given to me by my father. Today we produce more than 30 kinds of products. In particular, a plate of clay with the image of Al-Hakim al-Tirmizi's mausoleum, as well as pitchers, vases and clay national toys, attract special attention of tourists. The decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures on further development of handicrafts and supporting artisans” will allow us artisans, expand our activities.
This decree will also expand the ranks of artisans and provide employment to the inactive part of the youth.
At the end of the event, a master class was organized for young people interested in handicrafts.
