1300 schoolchildren for 630 places: when will the responsible persons pay attention to problems in school №14 of Sh.Rashidov district?

In recent years, large-scale reforms have been carried out in the country’s education system, especially in secondary education. They are aimed at comprehensive education of youth, creating opportunities for identifying their talents and abilities, unleashing their intellectual potential. However, despite this, there are cases where the reforms have not touched individual institutions.

The fact is that the building and the material-technical base of secondary school No.14 in Sh.Rashidov district of Jizzakh region have become unusable. This especially concerns the canteen, the sports and assembly hall, and a number of classrooms. This was revealed during the study of the situation at places by members of UzLiDeP working group consisting of employees of the regional Kengash of the party and deputies of the local Kengash.

As it became known, there are 1300 people studying in an educational institution designed for 630 schoolchildren. The training is carried out in two shifts and teachers make every effort to give them a qualitative education. However, the situation, when there are almost two times more students in classes than expected, is very worrying for parents.

According to the school director, until recently competitions were held at the district level in the gym, but due to the huge number of students, classes in some subjects are even held in the changing room. It is difficult to believe in it, but it is a reality, unfortunately. The district and regional khokimiyats have ignored the repeated appeals of the school staff and parents.

When members of the working group appealed to the district department of public education, representatives noted that they were aware of the problem and are looking for a solution. However, this educational institution was not included in the Investment Program for 2019-2020.

The regional department of public education and the khokimiyat also answered that they were aware of the existing problem. They have not forgotten the phrase “Everything will be fine in a short time”. But when soon – in a month, a year or five years?

It seems that responsible persons simply do not want to pay attention to the problem of qualitative school education. “They learn, so let them learn as it is”, they apparently think. We do not think that construction of an additional building in the school will cost a large sum to the local or regional budget. We hope that in the very near future students of school No. 14 will have the opportunity to receive a full-fledged education.
