The Khokimiyat of Jizzakh region, regional Kengash of UzLiDeP, the Writers’ Union and the Information Library Center opened a library in Kamar village of Bakhmal district, with a book collection of over 2000 copies.

In honor of this, the regional Kengash of UzLiDeP held a roundtable discussion in the library on “The book is the cradle of spirituality”.

At the event, views were exchanged on the issues of increasing the interest of youth in books, increasing their reading culture, the need for conducting advocacy on these issues in educational institutions, communities, each family.

– The role of the family in forming the reading skills of young people is difficult to overestimate, – says the First Deputy Chairman of Bakhmal district Kengash of UzLiDeP Bakhodir Kayumov. – Therefore, we invited parents and community activists to the event. Our goal is to increase the number of families where books are valued, the organization of at least a small library in each community.

– The event left a very good impression, – says Marjona Anorboyeva, a schoolgirl of the secondary school No. 35. – Discussions once again showed that books are not read not because of lack of time, but simple laziness and striving. But those who want to achieve concrete results should read more and broaden their horizons.

Following the event, the regional Kengash of UzLiDeP presented over 100 books to the library fund of Kamar village.
