Are prices controlled in markets?

During the coronavirus pandemic, the demand in food products increases. Therefore, along with preventing the spread of the disease and observing the rules of quarantine, serious measures must be taken to prevent food shortages. At the same time, it is important to ensure that prices are not artificially raised in markets.

During these difficult days, no one, and especially the deputies, have no the right to remain indifferent to the situation.

Deputies of Samarkand city council of people’s deputies Bakhodir Rakhmonov and Shokhrukh Alibekov visited “Damariq”, “Temiryul dehqon bozori” markets of the city of Samarkand and talked with sellers, suppliers and buyers in order to prevent artificially overpricing in the markets due to increased demand for food products and hygiene violations in the shopping places, to establish public control.

– According to observations today, people have united, except for individual unscrupulous merchants, all sellers and dehkans sell products at set prices, – said Bakhodir Rakhmonov. – The prices in the markets are as follows: meat – 48 thousand UZS, potatoes – 4 thousand UZS, onions – 3 thousand UZS, carrots – 1000 UZS, rice – 6-7 thousand UZS. The main thing is that there is no interruption in the supply of products in the markets. Hygienic and epidemiological situation under control.
