At the initiative of the Executive Committee of the Political Council of UzLiDeP, together with the Council of farmers, dehkan farms and owners of household land of Uzbekistan and the Center for support of entrepreneurship and farming of Uzbekistan organized round table on the theme «Efficient use of agricultural acreage by farmers, dekhkan farms and owners of household plots is a requirement of time» in the Zangiata district of the Tashkent Region.

The discussion focused widely on the essence and significance of the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On measures to radically improve the system of protecting the rights and legitimate interests of farmers, dekhkan farms and landowners, efficient use of agricultural acreage".

As it was noted in the event, despite the large-scale reforms carried out in the agrarian sector, the efficiency of using more than 480,000 hectares of household plots owned by the population remains at a low level. The parliamentary, representative and public control over effective use of land plots has not been properly established. Many farms are engaged in the cultivation of only agricultural products, but do not have the opportunity to establish a multidisciplinary activity.

Participants of the event noted that the above decree provides for the elimination of such shortcomings. In particular, the decree defines priority areas for increasing the personal interest and responsibility of farmers, dekhkan farms and homestead landholders in the effective use of crop areas, while creating an effective system of parliamentary, representative and public control.

This decree provides for permanent controls over the effective use of land, and also involves the termination of land lease contracts with farms that could not afford to establish a multi-sector farms from January 1, 2022.

The participants of the event noted that the decree also paid special attention to the stimulation of managers and owners of household land that had achieved high production results.

It should be noted that UzLiDeP is implementing the project «Primary party organizations of UzLiDeP – support start-up entrepreneurs to start their own business on their personal plot» in order to support owners of household lands.

Within the project deputy groups of UzLiDeP in local Councils together with territorial party organizations help those who want to establish their own business on their own plot. So far, primary party organizations have conducted direct dialogues with over 18,000 homeowners. After, about 13,000 homeowners established a private business in their personal plot. During the project over 9 thousand families received various kinds of recommendations in this direction.

At the end of the meeting, participants discussed the tasks to develop a program of measures to improve the activities of farmers, dekhkan farms and landowners, party organizations, factions and deputy groups of UzLiDeP in this direction, as well as they heard opinions and recommendations on introducing appropriate changes and additions to the legislative acts.
