On 4 August 2017, the Executive Committee of the Political Council of UzLiDeP and its faction in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis held an online discussion of the draft law of the Republic of Uzbekistan «On the Commissioner under the President for the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of business entities».

The video conference was broadcast directly on the official page of UzLiDeP in the social network Facebook. During the discussion of the topic, entrepreneurs put forward more than 100 proposals about this draft law.

Sodikjon Turdiyev, Chairman of the Executive Committee of Political Council of UzLiDeP: — The decree of the head of our state «On the establishment of the institution of the Commissioner under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for protection of rights and legitimate interests of business entities» from 5 May 2017 was received by the general public, including entrepreneurs with great enthusiasm.

This document meets the objectives of the Strategy for Actions on the development of Uzbekistan in 2017-2021 and contributes to strengthening the guarantees of the further effective activities of entrepreneurs, which form the basis of the party's electorate. The main tasks and areas of activity of the business ombudsman are participation in the formation and implementation of state policy in the field of business development, protection of the rights and interests of entrepreneurs.

During the discussion, which was held in the spirit of an active and constructive exchange of views, MPs and businessmen made their suggestions and recommendations on the draft law. It should be noted that a comprehensive study and generalization of these opinions and proposals will improve the draft law.

The participants discussed with great interest the norms of the draft law related to the procedure for considering complaints and other applications from business entities to the business ombudsman. He has an authority to consider complaints of business entities, acts or omissions of officials who violate the rights and legitimate interests of business entities.

— At the same time, the Commissioner for protection of rights and legal interests of business entities does not consider issues and complaints not related to entrepreneurial activity, - said deputy of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, member of UzLiDeP I. Khodjiev. — According to the draft law, he will not consider issues within the competence of the court, the bodies that carry out the operational-search activity, investigative bodies, inquiry and execution of punishment.

At the end of the event, the participants came to a conclusion about further improvement and thorough revision of the draft law, for which it is necessary to study even more widely the wishes and requests of citizens, concerns of entrepreneurs. The party and its faction will hold open dialogues with people, covering remote areas to discuss the draft law.
