In the capital city of Saudi Arabia, the Arab Islamic American Summit was held in Riyadh, in the work of which the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part. The high level of the event is emphasized by the participation in it of the heads of member-states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the US, Secretary-Generals of the UN, the League of Arab States, and the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf. The Summit discussed topical issues of strengthening counteraction to extremism and terrorism, promoting the ideas of tolerance, strengthening security, stability and cooperation. It should be noted that Uzbekistan has a successful experience in ensuring stability, interethnic and interreligious peace and harmony in the country, creating a climate of tolerance in society. Thanks to this, in Uzbekistan has peace and tranquility, civil consent in society, the young generation is brought up in the spirit of patriotism, respect for national and universal values, love and devotion to the Motherland. In this regard, we will highlight the decree of the Head of State "On measures on further improvement of international and friendly relations with foreign countries". Its implementation will promote further ensuring stability, peace and harmony in the society, strengthening in the minds of citizens a sense of belonging to a large, single multi-ethnic family, full support and further development of the activities of national cultural centers and friendship societies, and the expansion of cultural relations with foreign countries. In general, strengthening the atmosphere of friendship and harmony, peace and stability in society must remain the most important factors, a necessary condition for sustainable development. Therefore, in the Actions Strategy on five priority areas of development of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2017-2021, elaborated at the initiative of the Head of our State Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a specific attention is paid to the issues of reinforcing security, inter-ethnic accord and religious tolerance, tasks on improving legal base of foreign political and foreign economic activities, international cooperation.

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the invitation of King Salman bin Abdulaziz al Saud of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was in Saudi Arabia on 21 May 2017. The Republic of Uzbekistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia effectively cooperate in the areas of security, education, construction and investment. It should also be noted that the Summit in Riyadh has become a convenient venue for meeting with the heads of several states and governments, including, the President Donald Trump of the United States, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan I.Aliyev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N. Nazarbayev, President of the Republic of Tajikistan E. Rahmon, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan A. Ghani, the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan N. Sharif, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey M. Chavushoglu, with whom the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held constructive and useful meetings. Steady development of relations between Uzbekistan and the Islamic Development Bank, wide-scale cooperation of the parties in developing and implementing projects in social-economic areas was underlined at the meeting. This was discussed during the meeting of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev with President of the Islamic Development Bank Bandar Hajjar within the visit to Saudi Arabia. At present, work is underway on the implementation of 21 projects worth $ 1.4 billion. At the same time, between Uzbekistan and IDB there is a significant potential for further development of cooperation and raising it to a new level. In particular, it concerns such spheres as healthcare, education, irrigation and melioration, power industry, utilities, development of road infrastructure, support of small business. In conclusion, the visit of our Head of State to Saudi Arabia became a vivid manifestation of the peaceful foreign policy of Uzbekistan, based on such key principles as non-interference in the internal affairs of other states, the resolution of emerging conflicts and confrontations only through peaceful, political way, practical interaction with all foreign states and the world community. Such kind of events serves to implement foreign policy and further strengthen friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation with all States and international institutions.
