UzLiDeP working groups will take an active part in constitutional reforms

With the participation of the Executive Committee of the Political Council of UzLiDep, the faction of the party in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and territorial party organizations, an extended meeting was held on “The role of national commissions for improving the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan and UzLiDeP in the implementation of constitutional reforms”.

It was noted that along with the intensification of reforms carried out under the leadership of the Head of the state in all areas, and especially in the political and social direction, constitutional reforms are on the agenda as a particularly relevant issue.

The current Constitution served as a solid legal basis and the main guarantor of the results and major changes achieved during the years of independence. However, time is rapidly changing. In this regard, it was noted that the requirement of the day is to ensure that the Basic Law complies with current reality, the modern life of society, the boundaries outlined in the Development Strategy of Uzbekistan, and the basis of accelerated reforms. The New Uzbekistan Development Strategy has become a new stage of national development, the new principle “Person – Society – State” has become a priority.

It should be noted that the issue of improving the Constitution was raised by the party’s nominated presidential candidate during the pre-election process last year, at meetings of proxies with the population held in all territories. At pre-election meetings, proposals were made to strengthen human rights, further strengthen guarantees for entrepreneurship, develop civil society, the mahalla and family institutions, increase responsibility in solving social problems of the state, support youth, the elderly and the disabled, raise education and science to a qualitatively new level, review legal norms in ecology and nature protection.

These proposals are based on the hopes and aspirations of the people. And in this regard, it would be correct to consider these proposals as proposals put forward by the people.

It was noted that UzLiDeP and its faction in the lower house of parliament unanimously support constitutional reforms and believe that in this direction, together with regional party organizations, it is necessary to conduct open dialogues, conversations among the general population, business entities, primary party organizations and study their opinions and proposals.

At the meeting, tasks were outlined for the proper organization of work in this direction and separate working groups were organized.
