The students were explained the essence and significance of the draft constitutional law

Bektemir District Council of UzLiDeP organized an event dedicated to the essence and significance of the draft Constitutional Law “On the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan” under the motto “This is my choice – this is my Constitution!”.

The event, held at the Academic Lyceum under the Russian State University of Oil and Gas named after I.M. Gubkin, was attended by the Chairman of Bektemir District Council of UzLiDeP, deputy of Tashkent City Council of People’s Deputies Furkat Kalandarov, First Deputy Chairman, deputy of Bektemir District Council of People’s Deputies Gavkharoy Tukhtasinova, teachers and students of the lyceum, party activists.

The deputies who spoke at the event provided the participants with information on the essence and significance of the draft Constitutional Law.

“Currently, all the work carried out in the country is aimed at ensuring the value of a person. The basis of the amendments to the Basic Law is the great idea “In the name of human dignity”, which determines the essence of the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan. This is the true meaning of the amendments to the Constitution. Our people are deeply aware of the significance of the current historical reforms. Improving the Constitution of the country based on studying the opinions of the people provides an opportunity to raise the ongoing reforms to a qualitatively new level, the standard of living of people, the transition of Uzbekistan to a number of advanced countries of the world”, Furkat Kalandarov said.

At the event, it was emphasized that the draft Constitutional Law expands the rights and opportunities for education, introduces norms on the constitutional status of teachers.

In particular, the provision of academic freedoms to higher education institutions, the possibility of obtaining free higher education based on the competition at the expense of the state, the norms on supporting non-profit non-governmental institutions will provide the younger generation with an opportunity for personal development, to realize their aspirations, to find their place in life through mastering modern specialties.

The representatives of the party, who spoke at the meeting, called on the youth to show their civic position at the national referendum, which will be held in Uzbekistan on April 30 this year.
