Constitutional reform – a requirement of the time, a guarantee of the future!

A meeting was organized under the motto “Constitutional reform – a requirement of the time, a guarantee of the future!” in cooperation with Mirabad District Council of UzLiDeP and Tashkent State Transport Institute.

The event was attended by the Chairman of the Committee of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis on Science, Education, Culture and Sports, a member of UzLiDeP faction Erkin Zokhidov, the Chairman of Tashkent City Council of the party Ravshan Fozilov, party activists, teachers and university students.

The host of the event, Ravshan Fozilov, noted that all ongoing activities are aimed at raising the dignity of a person. The basis of the amendments to the Basic Law is the idea “In the name of the value of a person”, which determines the essence of the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan. A separate chapter in the document is devoted to the youth issue, which indicates the priority of youth policy in Uzbekistan.

As the deputies noted, the norms on giving academic freedom to universities, obtaining higher education on a competitive basis at the expense of the state, and supporting non-state education institutions will provide young people with the opportunity to improve their lives, realize their abilities, ensure personal development and find their own place in life through the acquisition of professions.

In the past six years, the number of universities in the country has increased from 77 to 210, enrollment – 5 times, the number of students – by 1 million, enrollment in higher education – from 9 to 38 percent. The number of state grants has doubled and reached 40, including grants for master’s programs increased by 5 times.

Following the event, the deputies called on the participants not to remain indifferent to the historical law that determines the fate and future of the people and to vote for the Constitution in a referendum to be held on April 30 this year.
