On April 18, 2018, the "online" conference on "Uzbekistan and Russia -prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation of regions" was organized on the initiative of the project on expansion of UzLiDeP`s  exports and investments, the center for support of entrepreneurship and farming of Uzbekistan and the committee for external relations of the city administration of Saint Petersburg.

The purpose of the event was to promote the establishment of direct business contacts between entrepreneurs of the two countries and deepen cooperation between enterprises producing fruit and vegetable and food products, as well as intensify trade, economic and investment cooperation between the regions of the two countries. Entrepreneurs and farmers from 6 regions of Uzbekistan, representatives of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, "Uzsharobsanoat", "Uzozikovkatholding" took part in it.

According to the tasks of the President of Uzbekistan and interests of party electorate, UzLiDeP reconsidered its activity as a «party of practical cases and actions». UzLiDeP platform organized between domestic producers and their potential partners abroad serves the party's purposes. The participation of representatives of authorities at this meeting provides an opportunity to identify in a timely manner the existing problems and to activate export activity of entrepreneurs.

The participants of the business forum emphasized that this event will allow expanding and strengthening traditionally close and mutually beneficial relations between business entities of Saint Petersburg and Uzbekistan organized with the direct assistance of the Governor of Saint Petersburg Georgy Sergeyevich Poltavchenko.

Russian participants of the event stressed that the teleconference with Uzbekistan organized in the house of Smolny under the leadership of the Saint Petersburg administration with the participation of representatives of committees on external relations, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and leading Russian companies will create and develop direct contacts and cooperation with Uzbek entrepreneurs.

The business forum was held in a friendly, absolutely constructive atmosphere. The producers of fruit and vegetable and food products of 6 regions of Uzbekistan presented their opportunities to supply high-quality products to Russian markets. A number of agreements have been reached on the supply of Uzbek products to Russia.

The event was attended by representatives of UzLiDeP deputy corps in regional representative authorities. This is an indicator of UzLiDeP's intentions to make a practical contribution to the development of cooperation between business structures of the two countries.

During the event, the participants expressed their interest in continuing the dialogue on the following issues: to create a green corridor in the Russian market for Uzbek fruit and vegetable products, to develop trade and economic and investment relations between Uzbek and Russian producers, to implement projects for innovative development and export, expansion of mutual supplies of high-tech industrial products and products with a higher degree of processing.

According to the members of UzLiDeP party groups, the party intends to continue developing direct contacts between Uzbek and foreign businessmen, promote Uzbek exports, develop tourism, and involve foreign investments, high technologies and «know-how» to the economy and social sphere of the country.

In general, the participants of the event noted that the business forum created a platform for establishing long-term relations between the two countries. The parties were interested in continuing the dialogue of entrepreneurs on an ongoing basis, including in other sectors and spheres of the economy.

The party will hold similar business forums with other regions of Russia, as well as with other countries. This will facilitate the establishment of direct contacts between entrepreneurs, the development and joint implementation of business projects, reach specific agreements on the issues of delivery of Uzbek products to foreign markets, etc.

In order to realize and bring to the logical end all the agreements reached during the conferences, the party will create special groups to deal with all organizational issues and become a "bridge of communication" between Uzbek and foreign entrepreneurs.
