In order to increase the investment attractiveness of the pharmaceutical market in our country, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan signed a decree «On measures to improve the efficiency of state registration of medicines and their provision to the public» on 20.06.2018.

It is known that over the past year and a half in our country, serious attention has been paid to the field of medicine, including the pharmaceutical industry. Over the past period more than ten normative legal acts have been adopted in this direction. This, of course, gives its positive results.

However, in spite of this, today the practice shows the presence of systemic problems that hinder the development of this sphere. In particular, the system of conducting state registration of medicines remains extremely complicated, which causes the import of ineffective drugs. This document will serve as a basis for addressing these problems.

The decree entrusts certain tasks to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the National Agency for Project Management under the President of Uzbekistan and a number of relevant institutions. In particular, measures are planned to ensure the revision within a month on the basis of the study of best international practice standards of diagnosis and treatment of major diseases, clinical protocols, as well as the quarterly revision of the list of social important medicines and medical supplies.

In general, this decree will serve to simplify and further improve the system of state registration of medicines.
