The UzLiDeP and its faction in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis organized a round table on the theme "The role of the private sector in the development of medicine in the country" to consider the current state and prospects of non-governmental medical institutions, as well as to discuss the draft Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On creation of additional conditions for the further development of private medical institutions" and develop proposals based on the program objectives and interests of the party's electorate.

The round table was attended by members of UzLiDeP, deputies, medical professionals, scientists, experts and party activists.

It is noted that Uzbekistan has created a national model of healthcare based on the principles of social protection of the population, phased transfer of individual medical institutions to mixed and private sources of financing and access to guaranteed volume of medical care.

A number of measures have been implemented over the past time to improve the quality of medical care and strengthen the role of the private sector in the field of medicine.

Today, private clinics and medical centers provide the population with qualified medical care. Thus, the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan  "On measures to further develop the private healthcare sector" defined the main directions and tasks for the further development of the private health sector.

As a result, only for 6 months of this year the number of private medical organizations increased by 515, more than a thousand new jobs were created.

The participants also touched upon the actual topic of training, retraining and upgrading of medical staff, and the integration of the private healthcare sector into a single information and communication system.

Following the results of in-depth discussions, recommendations for the further development of private health-care facilities were developed.
