UzLiDeP faction, the Committee of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan for Industry, Construction and Trade and UzLiDeP heard the information of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Uzbekistan on activities in the field of development of localization of production of finished products, components and materials.

Improving localization of finished products plays an important role in the further dynamic and sustainable development of the economy, reducing its dependence on external factors, the acceleration of the implementation of new, efficient technologies in production processes. That is why the localization in Uzbekistan is one of the main directions of development of the industry, which provides the use of local raw materials and production resources, an increase on this basis, production of modern competitive products. In addition, the country has established effective legal and regulatory framework, aimed at improving the level of localization of production of finished products, components and materials.

In order to review the results of the implementation of the localization program for the production of finished products, components and materials, the working group visited a number of enterprises of the Surkhandarya, Kashkadarya, Namangan and Tashkent regions and the city of Tashkent included in the localization program.

The Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Uzbekistan has done some work on the implementation of the resolution of the President of our country  “On measures of further implementation of prospective localization projects for production of finished products, components and materials for 2017-2019”.

At the hearing it was pointed out that according to the results of the first 9 months of the current year, 750 production facilities were established, the enterprises engaged in localization produced products in the amount of 5 trillion. 781 billion soums, which is 149% of the forecast. Under the localization program the production of 150 types of import-substituting products was mastered. As a result, the export of localized products in the amount of 351 million US dollars was provided. Another important indicator is that the program created 2 169 new jobs.

Participants said that the positive dynamics in the localization of products, components and materials is reflected in the creation of hundreds of high-tech industrial productions, growth of industrial production and GDP, the formation of domestic demand and the saturation of the market demand for industrial and consumer products, increasing export potential and reducing the volume of imports. Participants emphasized that the approaches to the implementation of localization programs provide transparency, prompt facilitation of decision-making and, ultimately, serve to increase the effectiveness of measures aimed at further deepening of production localization in Uzbekistan.

At the end of the hearing, participants made suggestions for further development of the Program and the improvement of the legal framework in this field.

Following the hearing, an appropriate decision was made.
