Population in Shakhrisabz district will unite in a cooperative for growing raspberries
Despite her old age, Muborak Meyliyeva grows raspberries in her yard. Residents of “Miraki” CAM of Shakhrisabz district intend to follow her example. A hardworking woman has been growing raspberries on one of her 6 acres for several years. She gets two crops a year. The income from this small plot is 6 million soums.
Representatives of the Council of Farmers, Dehkan Farms and Owners of Household Lands of Uzbekistan, together with Quva Center for Household Lands and specialists in the sphere, organized a master class on growing raspberries on the farm of Muborak opa and Zulfiqor ota Umarovs. Practical trainings were conducted on the technology of planting and processing, pruning and transplanting, tying up raspberry bushes. At the same time, the experience of dehkans of the valley was studied.
Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, Head of UzLiDeP Faction Aktam Khaitov visited her site. He highly appreciated the work of Muborak opa and expressed gratitude for her contribution to the development of farming.
“Young families should follow the example of Muborak opa”, said A. Khaitov. – We will promote her work. I spoke with representatives of the population. They want to unite in a cooperative for growing raspberries. Such a cooperative will definitely give a positive result. If 100 families unite and specialize in the cultivation of one crop – raspberries, an opportunity will be created not only for filling the domestic market, but also for exporting.
Residents of a number of citizens’ assemblies of mahallas expressed a desire to popularize this work on a district scale and increase income from household plots.
It should be noted that for the establishment of raspberry cultivation on almost a thousand household plots, the Foundation under the Council of Farmers, Dehkan Farms and Owners of Household Lands of Uzbekistan will provide a soft loan for 1 billion soums. Cultivating raspberries, women who are included in “Ayollar Daftari” (Women’s notebook) will receive a source of income. As a result, having gained experience, dehkans from 5 acres will be able to receive an annual income of 45-50 million soums.
