The President ordered to intensify work on the introduction of innovations

Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution "On additional measures to improve the mechanisms for introducing innovations in the industry and the sphere of the economy."
In higher educational institutions, the post of pro-rector for scientific work and innovations is introduced instead of the post of pro-rector for scientific work. The practice of simultaneous appointment of deputy directors for the science of research institutions of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the post of vice-rectors for scientific work and innovations of specialized higher educational institutions.
In the structure of higher educational institutions of innovation funds and divisions on the commercialization of scientific and innovative developments.
In the structure of the Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Department for the Development of Science and Scientific and Technical Research is being created, with the addition of 10 additional staff members financed from the State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The formation of innovative foundations of higher educational institutions (hereinafter - innovative foundations) is to be formed. Their formation will be carried out at the expense of incomes from commercialization of innovative products, directions in the amount of not less than 5 percent of paid-contractual funds after covering expenses of higher educational institutions for the payment of wages, scholarships, as well as other current expenses.
Determine that the funds of innovation foundations are directed to:
- stimulation of scientific research and innovative developments;
- purchase of scientific and laboratory equipment, consumables and components;
- formation and renewal of the research infrastructure, material incentives for scientific workers;
- implementation of other costs associated with innovation.

In the universities will also be established units for the commercialization of scientific and innovative developments of higher educational institutions.

The proposal of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan on channeling 0.1 percent of the funds of foundations on supporting innovation activities of economic management bodies and large state-owned enterprises into the Fund for Support of Innovative Development and Innovative Ideas with their further targeted use for the implementation of innovative ideas, developments and technologies.
To determine that the activities of units for the commercialization of scientific and innovative developments of higher educational institutions are financed from the funds of innovation foundations and other sources not prohibited by law.
