Opportunities for remote participation in court proceedings to be introduced

At a meeting of the UzLiDeP faction in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, the draft State Program for implementing the Uzbekistan 2030 Strategy in the Year of Environmental Protection and Green Economy was discussed.

Deputies emphasized that the State Program is a vital strategic document that guarantees the country’s stability and the well-being of its people. Every task outlined in the program aims to improve the quality of life for citizens and enhance the nation’s potential.

It was noted that the environmental protection and green economy objectives outlined in the program align with numerous initiatives and ideas from the party’s electoral platform. The measures proposed resonate with the interests of the party’s electorate.

The deputies shared their opinions, suggestions, and recommendations on the content and significance of the program. During the discussions, UzLiDeP, its faction in the Legislative Chamber, regional party councils, deputies of local councils, and all activists, while presenting their proposals and recommendations, underscored the importance of active and proactive participation in this process.

Following this, the deputies reviewed, in its second reading, a draft law to prevent the repeated prosecution of business entities for the same violation.

This draft law introduces corresponding amendments and additions to the Administrative Liability Code and the Tax Code to ensure that individuals are held accountable only for specific offenses, further improving tax administration.

During the discussions, faction members shared their views on the draft law. They noted that suggestions from deputies had been considered and incorporated into the document during its preparation for the second reading.

According to the deputies, adopting this law will contribute to the liberalization of responsibility for tax violations, prevent excessive bureaucracy, reduce burdens on business entities, and allow them to allocate their working capital to business development.

The session also focused on drafting a law to create more favorable conditions for citizens to participate remotely in court proceedings.

The deputies supported the draft law, emphasizing that it would help avoid confusion when people arrive at court buildings for hearings and enhance access to justice.

Other issues related to the faction’s activities were discussed and approved during the session.
