A roundtable discussion held on “The inclusive education system in Uzbekistan and its prospects”
At the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages, an analytical discussion and practical roundtable were organized within the framework of the UzLiDeP-initiated project “Towards an Inclusive Society”. The event focused on examining and discussing the “Inclusive education system in Uzbekistan and its prospects”.
The event was attended by members of the UzLiDeP faction in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, local council deputies, party activists, representatives of relevant ministries and agencies, experts, university professors and students, and media representatives.
The project encompasses key issues such as ensuring barrier-free and safe mobility for people with disabilities, expanding their economic and legal opportunities, promoting social equality, developing inclusive education, and facilitating employment.
At the event, special attention was given to the programs and social support measures outlined in UzLiDeP’s “5 Goals, 500 Tasks” agenda for individuals with disabilities. Discussions focused on expanding education and vocational retraining services, enhancing accessibility and adaptation measures, including infrastructure adjustments for people with disabilities, improving access to public spaces, transportation, and government services, and further refining the legal and regulatory framework for developing an inclusive education system.
Additionally, the agenda included discussions on supporting women with disabilities in receiving continuous education at general secondary schools, vocational colleges, and higher education institutions. The event also highlighted the initiative to establish “UzLiDeP Volunteer Supporter” youth clubs within educational institutions. These clubs aim to unite young people in providing moral support to their peers with disabilities and encouraging humanitarian assistance efforts.
Students and teachers who supported UzLiDeP’s ideas were awarded membership certificates during the event.
