Living conditions and residents’ appeals studied in Muynak
A working group led by Aktam Khaitov, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the UzLiDeP Political Council and Head of the party faction in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, is conducting studies in the Republic of Karakalpakstan. The latest studies focused on Muynak district and covered residents’ appeals, social issues, entrepreneurship, and the state of local infrastructure.
The working group visited Muynak and Dustlik mahallas, where it met with residents and heard their proposals and concerns. The working group also met with deputies of the local Council and entrepreneurs to discuss opportunities and incentives for businesses, as well as issues related to developing entrepreneurship in the region.
The effectiveness of services provided to the population at the “Inson” Social Services Center was also examined.
Particular attention was paid to ongoing efforts to improve the district’s drinking water supply. Under a project financed by the Asian Development Bank, 97.8 kilometers of water supply networks are planned to be constructed and reconstructed, five water distribution facilities are planned to be built, and nine water reservoirs are planned to be constructed. Upon completion of the project, drinking water coverage of the population is expected to reach 100 percent.
The activities of the History of the Aral Sea Museum and the Ajiniyaz Ecopark were also reviewed, and proposals were made to use the region’s tourism potential more effectively.
A mobile reception held as part of the nationwide “Together with the People” program drew 250 citizens. As a result of the appeals, 53 issues were identified, 46 of which were resolved on site, and legal advice and explanations were provided for 7 appeals. 25 citizens received various forms of assistance totaling 224.6 million UZS.
Residents’ proposals regarding electricity and gas tariffs, internet prices, tourism infrastructure, and other issues were under review for referral to the relevant organizations.
