An important step toward new opportunities and development

The President’s visit to Andijan region marked an important milestone in further unlocking the region’s vast potential, improving people’s well-being and developing modern infrastructure. The tasks set during the visit and the major projects currently being implemented indicate that the region is entering a new stage of development.

In particular, constructing a new overpass linking two sections of Bobur Shoh Street in Andijan is important for further developing the city’s infrastructure. The facility will provide additional convenience for residents and ease traffic flows. Most importantly, by directly connecting two parts of the city, it will help save time and reduce the need for detours.

The project, with a total cost of 271 billion UZS, was implemented in accordance with instructions issued by the Head of State during his previous visit to the Andijan region. Built to modern standards, the overpass is 796 meters long and 25.9 meters wide. Of this, 596 meters are elevated, while the remaining 200 meters comprise a roadway with retaining walls, further improving the city’s transportation system.

Most importantly, the project has created significant conveniences for residents. Around 140,000 people living in Andijan city and Oltinkul district will no longer need to travel an additional 5.3 kilometers. This will save time, ease traffic, and make conditions more convenient for residents.

At the same time, the travel distance for emergency and other special services has been reduced from 15 kilometers to 9.3 kilometers. By eliminating the extra distance and delays at the railway crossing, travel time to destinations will be reduced by up to 17 minutes. This is especially important for emergency medical care, as patients can now be transported to the emergency medical center 14 minutes faster.

The timely implementation of the tasks set by the Head of State during his visit to Andijan, and ensuring that every project serves the interests of the people, will remain a constant focus for us as deputies. We must actively participate in this process and consistently exercise public and parliamentary oversight over the implementation of the assigned tasks.
