As previously reported, a delegation from the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan (UzLiDeP) is participating in the 13th General Assembly of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) in Seoul, Republic of Korea. Aktam Khaitov, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the party’s Political Council, delivered a speech at the event, held under the theme “Rebuilding Trust in a Changing World”. He spoke about the reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the country’s initiatives in international cooperation.

In his speech, he emphasized that all reforms in New Uzbekistan aim to serve the people’s interests. He noted that improving public welfare, protecting citizens’ rights and freedoms, supporting entrepreneurship, and creating new opportunities for young people are key national policy priorities, based on the “Individual – Society – State” principle put forward by the President.

The speech also highlighted the open and peace-oriented foreign policy pursued by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, efforts to develop good relations with neighboring countries, and the expansion of international cooperation. Aktam Khaitov emphasized the importance of strengthening ties between political parties and expanding cooperation between parliamentary factions. He also noted the opportunities arising from the strategic partnership with the Republic of Korea and the “Central Asia – Republic of Korea” cooperation format.

The speech also included proposals on the responsible use of artificial intelligence, personal data protection, combating digital forgery, water conservation, and the widespread adoption of green technologies. In particular, an initiative was put forward to exchange experience in these areas within the framework of ICAPP.

The Assembly’s agenda includes plenary sessions, a report on ICAPP’s activities for 2024-2026, meetings to discuss amendments to the organization’s Charter, and the election of the General Assembly Bureau. The head of the delegation will also hold bilateral meetings with representatives of foreign political parties. These discussions will help raise international awareness of the reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan, facilitate the exchange of experience, and establish new partnerships.
