UzLiDeP to take an active role in implementing the nationwide “Yashil Makon” project
The Executive Committee of the Political Council of UzLiDeP has outlined tasks to ensure the implementation of the President’s new decree to strengthen the role of mahallas in carrying out the nationwide “Yashil Makon” project. The meeting discussed landscaping and greening initiatives, expanding green areas in mahallas, and effectively organizing the tasks set out in the decree.
Under the decree, a two-month nationwide campaign titled “Cleanliness and Tidiness” will begin on October 1. Starting January 1, 2027, the “Greening the Mahalla” package will be introduced as part of the “Green Mahalla” project, along with the “Green Lot” system. The decree also provides for applying the “3-30-300” principle in urban greening. Under this approach, every person should be able to see at least three trees from their home, workplace, or place of study, at least 30% of the area should be covered by tree canopy, and a green recreational space should be located within 300 meters of the home.
To ensure the decree’s implementation at the local level, the meeting established working groups comprising party representatives, deputies, and active members. The meeting also approved an action plan to organize work in stages, study and analyze developments in the regions, and prepare relevant proposals to address identified problems.
Party representatives and deputies will actively participate in these efforts at the local level, with particular attention to organizing awareness-raising and outreach activities in mahallas, supporting greening initiatives together with partner organizations, reviewing the work being carried out, and strengthening public oversight. The goal is to turn the “Yashil Makon” initiative into tangible results in every mahalla.
