Aktam Khaitov, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Political Council of UzLiDeP, met with farmers and household plot owners, who form part of the party’s electorate, in Gaybu village, Urgench district, Khorezm region. The discussion focused on efficient land use, expanding winter-sown crop cultivation, and increasing household incomes.

A workshop on growing winter-sown crops was also held as part of the meeting. Participants exchanged experience on proper crop placement, selecting varieties suited to local conditions, efficient water use, and effective agricultural practices.

In Khorezm region, winter-sown crops are planned to be planted on 31,900 hectares for the 2027 harvest. The plan envisages producing 312,000 tons of onions and 69,000 tons of garlic, with nearly 298,000 tons intended for the domestic market.

Aktam Khaitov learned about local farmers’ and smallholders' farming practices and discussed the challenges they face. Particular attention was drawn to the experience of a farmer who grows winter-sown crops on 0.3 hectares of his 1.8-hectare plot and earns nearly 200 million UZS annually.

Following the meeting, practical measures were outlined to expand winter crop cultivation, improve land use efficiency, and increase farmers’ incomes.
