Bukhara discusses cleanliness, environmental sustainability, and youth employment

A regular meeting of the UzLiDeP deputy group in the Bukhara City Council of People’s Deputies was held to discuss sanitation services in the city, the waste management system, and measures being implemented under the state youth policy.

Members of the deputy group, officials of the party’s city council, and heads of relevant organizations attended the meeting. The city’s 65 mahallas are currently covered by waste collection services, with 40 specialized vehicles, 78 waste collection points, and 466 containers in use. As of the end of the first half of 2026, the household waste recycling rate was 39 percent.

The participants also discussed a waste-to-energy project planned for implementation in Bukhara region, covering its environmental significance and its potential to create new jobs.

During the discussions, deputies Jonibek Matniyozov, Shahnoza Ahrorova, Malika Ishkhodjayeva, Nargiza Dilova, party activist Mamlakat Sodiqova, and others shared their views on maintaining cleanliness and improving the urban environment, strengthening environmental sustainability, increasing waste-recycling efficiency, and supporting young people. Following the meeting, participants adopted relevant decisions on the issues discussed, and oversight was assigned to implement the tasks.
