Children’s menus without fast food or energy drinks: a key step toward a healthy generation
At the initiative of the Namangan Regional Council of UzLiDeP, a public discussion was held at the Namangan branch of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Cardiology to protect children’s health, promote healthy eating habits and prevent cardiovascular diseases.
The event, led by Solijon Muminov, Chairman of the Namangan Regional Council of UzLiDeP, brought together deputies, representatives of primary party organizations, young activists, and healthcare professionals to discuss ways to prevent children and adolescents from consuming fast food, sugary drinks, and energy drinks. As emphasized during the discussion, eating habits developed in childhood directly affect a person’s future health and well-being.
During the discussion, participants stressed the need to introduce healthy menus in educational institutions, based on quality, safe foods suited to children’s ages and nutritional needs, increase the proportion of nutritious meals served in school canteens, and strengthen awareness-raising efforts among parents and young people. Key priorities also included organizing preventive health sessions with cardiologists, promoting healthy lifestyles in mahallas, and strengthening cooperation among deputies, party activists, teachers, and healthcare professionals.
Such public discussions play an important role in addressing public health concerns, bringing together expert and community perspectives, and developing practical solutions. Coordinated efforts by families, educational institutions, healthcare providers, deputies and the wider community are crucial in this regard. Above all, fostering healthy eating habits in children from an early age can help prevent future health problems and raise a healthy, well-rounded generation.
