The UzLiDeP deputy group suggests developing a single mobile app for tourists visiting Khorezm

A public hearing was held at the Khorezm Regional Council of People’s Deputies, with participation from the UzLiDeP deputy group, to discuss tourism development in the region, the growth of tourism service exports, and the reforms being implemented in the sector. At the hearing, the Khorezm Regional Tourism Department presented information on the results achieved, existing challenges, and future priorities.

As of 1 July 2026, Khorezm region had received 8,593,281 tourists. Of these, 1,767,832 were foreign tourists, and 6,825,449 were domestic tourists, nearly twice as many as in the corresponding period of the previous year. In addition, nearly 500 cooperation agreements have been signed with more than 300 foreign tourism companies, and efforts to expand international tourist routes continue.

At the hearing, particular attention was paid to projects to transform the Sulaymon Qala complex in Hazorasp district into a modern tourist destination and to develop tourism and service infrastructure along the Shovot Canal in Urgench. Proposals were also put forward to create a unified mobile app for tourists, establish ethnic villages and handicraft centers, train guides with an excellent command of foreign languages, expand international air services, and launch a “Night Tourism” program.

Following the hearing, priority tasks were identified to attract investment, create new jobs, increase service exports, and transform Khorezm into one of Central Asia’s most attractive tourist destinations through further tourism development. It was noted that such tourism initiatives will contribute to economic growth, the preservation of national cultural heritage, and the enhancement of the country’s international standing.
