UzLiDeP supports business ideas of creative young entrepreneurs in Karakalpakstan
The Karakalpakstan Council of the Uzbekistan Liberal Democratic Party (UzLiDeP) organized the Creative Young Entrepreneurs forum in Nukus as part of the nationwide “Together with the People” program. Young participants presented their startup projects and shared ideas on using modern technologies to address existing challenges.
Khudaybergen Karimbergenov from Shumanay district won first place for his Smart First-Aid Kit project. The device combines medication reminders, health monitoring and the ability to alert emergency medical services when necessary. The project is designed to provide greater convenience, particularly for older people, patients who require regular medication and people with disabilities.
Second place was awarded to Shartli, a mobile application developed by 18-year-old entrepreneur Torebek Maksetov, while Araztaj Atajanova’s EcoDrop Anti-Termite project took third place. Shartli helps digitize loan, installment payment and rental arrangements, enabling users to conclude electronic contracts and monitor payments. According to the project developer, the initiative has attracted $40,000 in investment from Karakalpakstan and another $20,000 from investors in England. EcoDrop Anti-Termite aims to develop a biological termite control product based on licorice root to protect residential buildings and historical monuments.
The forum also featured an exhibition, a business marathon and workshops on artificial intelligence, web development and cybersecurity. Such initiatives provide valuable opportunities to turn young people’s ideas into practical projects, attract investment and create new jobs. Most importantly, young people are not only shaping their own futures but also developing new solutions that contribute to the region’s economic development.
