Information on a pressing issue was supported
At the meeting of the faction of the Movement of Entrepreneurs and Businesspeople – Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, the discussion first focused on the substance of the President’s resolution “On measures to implement the agreements reached in agriculture and food during the high-level visit to Mongolia”.
Deputies emphasized that this resolution would serve not only to ensure food security but also to fulfill the priority tasks outlined in the party’s election program.
At the faction meeting, along with the discussion of several draft laws, the issue of submitting a parliamentary inquiry to the Chairman of the Central Bank was also thoroughly considered.
This inquiry, titled “On measures being taken to accelerate the transformation of banks”, requests information on the comprehensive transformation of commercial banks with state shares, the issuance of their securities through IPOs, the introduction of modern standards of banking, information technologies, and software products, as well as the involvement of experienced foreign specialists in the sector.
Deputies, noting the urgency of the issue, emphasized the importance of also receiving a report on the measures being implemented to ensure the financial stability of the banking system, expand the provision of remote services for the population and small businesses, increase the accessibility and quality of financial services, widely introduce information technologies into the banking sector, and ensure information security at the necessary level.
They also supported the need for information on measures aimed at eliminating corruption factors in the allocation of preferential loans by commercial banks to individuals and legal entities, including limiting the human factor in the provision of financial services and accelerating the process of digitalization in this area.
