Within the framework of UzLiDeP’s “Durdona” project, a modern library has been established at School No. 29 in Shahrikhan district of Andijan region. The project was implemented at the initiative of and with the sponsorship of Odinakhon Otakhonova, a deputy of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, to create a modern, comfortable, and educational environment for students. The library fund has been enriched with fiction and popular science literature.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the deputy emphasized the role of books in human life, particularly their invaluable importance in the upbringing of young people. She noted that the tasks outlined during President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s open dialogue with youth, as well as state initiatives aimed at developing a culture of reading, are today contributing to the spiritual development of young people.
The event continued with a roundtable discussion titled “The Book – the Cradle of Spirituality”. During the discussion, issues related to promoting reading among young people, popularizing the masterpieces of national literature, and strengthening the spiritual environment were addressed. It was emphasized that such initiatives serve to enhance the intellectual potential of the younger generation, enrich their spiritual outlook, and strengthen the foundation of the New Uzbekistan.
