At the meeting of the UzLiDeP faction in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, the importance of the video conference held on April 18 this year under the chairmanship of the President, dedicated to discussing measures to mitigate the impact of global economic fluctuations on sectors and industries, was thoroughly reviewed.

On this issue, faction members expressed their opinions, noting that thanks to the prudent foreign policy pursued in recent years and the favorable investment climate, new markets are opening up for entrepreneurs in Uzbekistan, and the range of products is expanding.

The tasks set by the Head of State were emphasized as being in harmony with the ideas and objectives of the party, and it was noted that UzLiDeP activists and members of its parliamentary faction must mobilize all their efforts and knowledge to achieve these noble goals and work to improve the legal framework in the sector.

The meeting also featured lively discussions on the draft law aimed at improving legal relations in the field of taxation and entrepreneurship.

Faction member Firdavs Qurbonov spoke about the importance of the draft law and provided detailed information on the work carried out during its preparation for the second reading.

According to the deputy, to prevent tax violations, the draft law introduces legal norms aimed at strengthening liability for offenses in the sector and reinforcing accountability for evading the payment of taxes or fees.

During the discussions, faction member Saydullo Azimov noted that the proposals put forward by deputies during the preparation of the draft law for the second reading had been taken into account and reflected in the text of the document.

He also raised clarifying questions regarding the amendments being introduced to Article 41 of the Criminal Procedure Code. Deputy F. Qurbonov, responsible for the draft law, together with the initiators of the draft law, provided detailed explanations on the issues raised.

Deputy Umid Yakubkhodjayev expressed his views and proposals regarding the third part of Article 212 of the Tax Code being amended. The initiators of the draft law provided explanations on the questions raised. Following lively discussions, the draft law was supported by the deputies.

At the faction meeting, the draft law “On introducing amendments and addenda to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan ‘On state duty’ in connection with the introduction of new market mechanisms in the agro-industrial sector” was at the center of discussions.

The draft law provides for exempting producers and processors of fruit and vegetable products, greenhouse farms, as well as applicants filing petitions, complaints, and claims to protect their rights and legitimate interests, from paying state duty when applying to the Agro-Industrial Development Agency under the Ministry of Agriculture.

Deputies noted that the provisions envisaged in the draft law are in line with the objectives set out in the party’s election program, emphasizing that the document will contribute to ensuring food security, establishing intensive orchards and vineyards, developing greenhouse farms, and increasing agricultural production.

Following lively debates, the draft law was supported by faction members.
