Every citizen of retirement age is entitled to receive a free voucher to a recreation center once every three years. However, some officials claim that this privilege applies only to pensioners who are still employed.

This issue was raised during a dialogue with the population by members of the UzLiDeP faction in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and deputies of local councils of people’s deputies. Rahmon Muhammadiyev, Hero of Uzbekistan and Chair of the Council of Veterans under the UzLiDeP Surkhandarya Regional Council, emphasized that elderly citizens in the region are dissatisfied with such unfair approaches by certain officials.

Over the course of one month, the working group, established to address socio-economic problems in the region, pledged, together with the relevant ministries, to find a positive solution to this issue.

The dialogue also included discussion of proposals from local council deputies on tourism, handicrafts, agriculture, and social protection.
