The World in Crisis: Uzbekistan's Role in Addressing Global Challenges

The world has entered a period of crisis, compelling states to adopt various fragmented measures. However, these measures fail to systematically address the root causes of the problems facing nations worldwide. Uncertainties are accumulating and intertwining, leading to socio-economic shifts and dangerous planetary changes.

Unfortunately, an atmosphere of competition and mistrust among leading states has intensified. New centers of confrontation and wars are emerging, exacerbating threats and challenges. This includes the ongoing unjust war in the Middle East and the evident double standards being applied. For instance, the unprecedented humanitarian tragedy in Gaza and Lebanon, the devastating attacks on civilians, and the loss of innocent lives are inexcusable.

Uzbekistan is actively engaged in efforts to resolve the Palestinian issue, one of the most acute and complex matters on the global agenda. On November 11 of this year, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev participated in an extraordinary Arab-Islamic summit. The summit addressed the unification of international efforts to de-escalate the situation in Gaza and Lebanon and to achieve a prompt political resolution of the ongoing crisis.

Uzbekistan fully supports practical initiatives aimed at resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict through peaceful and diplomatic means. President Mirziyoyev emphasized that the issues of an immediate cessation of hostilities, the establishment of safe humanitarian corridors, and the initiation of peace negotiations should remain at the forefront of the United Nations and the Security Council's agenda.

Uzbekistan firmly stands on the position that the Palestinian people, with their ancient and rich history, have the full right to establish an independent and free state with East Jerusalem as its capital within the 1967 borders.

Uzbekistan has also offered free medical treatment in its clinics for Palestinian children and women affected by the war. President Mirziyoyev highlighted the importance of ensuring the inviolability and preservation of the sacred Al-Aqsa Mosque and other unique historical and cultural monuments in Jerusalem.
