At the initiative of the UzLiDeP Tashkent City Council and the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a meeting was organized for members of the “Volunteers Club” under the “Youth Wing” within the framework of the project “The Role of Youth in Parliament”. During the event, 65 active young participants had the opportunity to become closely familiar with the activities of the Senate, the legislative process, and work related to the socio-economic development of the regions.

At the meeting, the students were given detailed information on the Senate committees’ activities, the procedure for holding plenary sessions, and the stages of the law review and approval process. In addition, Senator Malika Kadirkhanova, a member of the Committee on Youth, Women, Culture and Sports, shared comprehensive views on the reforms underway and the new initiatives being introduced in youth policy.

During the open and sincere dialogue, young participants put forward their proposals and initiatives and received answers to the questions that interested them.

Such meetings help enhance the legal culture of young people, ensure their active participation in political processes, and strengthen their voices in the lawmaking process.
