At the meeting of the UzLiDeP faction in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, the Cabinet of Ministers’ report on implementing the State Program for the first half of 2025, within the framework of the Uzbekistan 2030 Strategy, was reviewed. This report focused on the Year of Environmental Protection and Green Economy.

In line with the party’s goals and objectives, deputies paid particular attention to the measures carried out under the State Program aimed at developing the economy.

Emphasizing that the country is achieving tangible results on the path of sustainable economic growth, the report notes that it provides a detailed account of the key indicators of socio-economic development, macroeconomic stability, and the measures implemented to ensure consistent progress in the economy and the social sphere.

At the meeting, one of the agenda items – the draft law aimed at supporting business entities to ensure employment and expand the production of high-value-added goods – became the subject of lively discussions.

The draft law introduces several amendments and additions to two existing codes and three laws aimed at providing benefits for entrepreneurs.

In particular, it envisages simplifying the procedure for liquidating business entities that are not engaged in financial and economic activities, granting exemptions from profit tax and property tax to entrepreneurs involved in the production of goods based on advanced technologies, and exempting pasture lands under the permanent use of regional pasture farms established as state institutions from land tax.

It is also proposed to grant tax incentives aimed at supporting the light industry and services sector, the mortgage market, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and residents of the creative park.

During the discussions, faction members Nuriddin Jabborov, Firdavs Qurbonov, and others noted that several proposals put forward by faction members during the preparation of the draft law for the second reading had been taken into account and reflected in the text of the document.

Deputies approved the proposal in the draft law to reduce the liquidation period for business entities not engaged in financial and economic activities from three years to one year, noting that such an amendment would have a positive impact on accurately assessing business activity in the country and reducing the shadow economy.

Faction members emphasized that this document, by supporting business entities, would contribute to ensuring employment and expanding the production of high-value-added goods, and therefore endorsed it.
