Today, an online dialogue was held between the Executive Committee of the Political Council of UzLiDeP and the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan.

It was attended by the leadership of the International Bureau of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan (LDP), led by Taro Kono, as well as members of the country’s parliament.

At the UzLiDeP studio, the meeting was attended by A. Khaitov, Chairman of the party’s Political Council’s Executive Committee, as well as members of the party’s Executive Committee and its faction in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis.

The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Japan, M.T. Abdurakhmanov, from the Tokyo studio.

During the meeting, the parties emphasized that in recent years, relations between Uzbekistan and Japan have become increasingly comprehensive, with cooperation expanding beyond the economic sphere to include cultural and humanitarian areas.

It was noted that meetings held and agreements signed during the official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to Japan in December 2025 played a special role in elevating relations to a new level. Particular attention was paid to the fact that elevating bilateral relations to the level of an expanded strategic partnership marks a new qualitative stage in those relations.

The Japanese side noted that while supporting the reforms in Uzbekistan, it is interested in expanding cooperation in education and the economy, as well as the broader introduction of modern technologies. It was also emphasized that cooperation between leading political parties plays an important role in the effective implementation of collaboration in these areas.

Following the negotiations, the parties expressed their readiness to deepen cooperation and identified specific steps to be taken.

The meeting was conducted in a constructive and friendly spirit.
