On September 11 this year, a meeting was held at the Executive Committee of the Political Council of UzLiDeP with Ulvi Akhundlu, Deputy Head of the Election Department of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), and Kakha Inaishvili, Election Adviser at OSCE/ODIHR.

At the meeting, UzLiDeP representatives briefed the guests on the party’s ongoing work since the elections through its faction in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and its party groups in local councils of people’s deputies. They also discussed the implementation of the party’s election program, the impact of the mixed electoral system – introduced for the first time in Uzbekistan – on qualitative changes in the activities of the parliamentary corps, as well as the party’s upcoming tasks.

In turn, Ulvi Akhundlu expressed gratitude for the warm reception and noted that a relationship of mutual trust has been established between Uzbekistan’s electoral stakeholders and the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR).

He emphasized that the primary purpose of this visit was to once again highlight the key aspects of the final report on the results of the parliamentary elections held in Uzbekistan in October 2024, as well as to outline future areas of cooperation with electoral stakeholders in the country.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on several issues of mutual interest.

The dialogue was held in a constructive and trusting atmosphere.
