Meeting with the ICAPP leadership
The International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) is a prestigious international organization that unites more than 370 political parties. It serves as an essential platform for political parties across Asia to discuss pressing regional and global issues. At the same time, ICAPP extends beyond Asia, allowing the participation of representatives from political parties in Africa, Europe, and Latin America.
Recognizing the significance of ICAPP, a meeting was held on April 4, 2025, between the leadership of UzLiDeP and Eui-yong Chung, Chairman of the ICAPP Standing Committee. The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Uzbekistan, Won Do-yeon, also took part in the event.
Chairperson of the Executive Committee of the Political Council of UzLiDeP, A. Khaitov, noted that under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, large-scale reforms have been implemented aimed at strengthening the economy, enhancing social protection, and increasing the country’s international standing. He emphasized that one of the party’s main goals is the well-being of every individual, every family, and society as a whole. The Korean side was also briefed on UzLiDeP’s position regarding foreign policy.
For his part, Eui-yong Chung praised the current level of cooperation between UzLiDeP and ICAPP. He shared insights into the prospects and plans of ICAPP as an effective platform for dialogue and collaboration among Asian political parties. Both sides agreed on the importance of further expanding cooperation within the framework of ICAPP, utilizing active inter-party, parliamentary, and public diplomacy mechanisms.
The meeting was held in a friendly and constructive atmosphere.
