UzLiDeP Press Club: Discussion on the results of the “Be Cautious – Carbon Monoxide” campaign
During the latest session of the UzLiDeP Press Club, discussions were held regarding the causes of fires and carbon monoxide poisoning incidents, which result from the failure to observe safety regulations when using natural and liquefied gas, solid fuels, or petroleum products for heating residential homes. The session also explored ways to prevent such occurrences.
The Press Club was attended by members of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and Local Councils, representatives of ministries and agencies, scholars, media representatives, and party activists.
It is worth noting that the Uzbekistan Liberal Democratic Party has been conducting the “Be Cautious – Carbon Monoxide” campaign for several months under the principle “Human life is invaluable and above all else”.
The campaign aims to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning by regularly inspecting and repairing heating systems in residential homes in cooperation with relevant organizations, party activists, local council deputies, and sponsors. Additionally, efforts are being made to strictly enforce safety regulations and raise public awareness about the dangers of carbon monoxide and preventive measures.
Moreover, carbon monoxide detectors are being installed free of charge for citizens registered in the Unified Social Protection Registry.
As part of the campaign, 1,939 deputies, nearly 1,000 entrepreneurs, and around 4,000 specialists were involved. Numerous households received carbon monoxide detectors.
During the Press Club Session, scholars, representatives of ministries and agencies, and deputies took the floor to express their diverse opinions and perspectives on the issue.
Following the event, an agreement was reached to implement systematic measures for expanding activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations when using natural and liquefied gas, solid fuels, or petroleum products for heating homes. These efforts will focus on preventing fire incidents and cases of carbon monoxide poisoning.
