On July 7, 2025, a regular meeting of the UzLiDeP faction in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis was held. The discussion first focused on the President’s state visit to Azerbaijan and participation in the 17th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization.

It was noted that the President’s particular emphasis on resolving conflicts and disputes through diplomacy and constructive negotiations is a practical expression of our country’s peace-loving foreign policy.

The Head of State’s proposals to adopt the “Strategic Goals of Economic Cooperation 2035” concept, hold a meeting of trade ministers in Tashkent, establish a green corridors system, adopt the EcoInvest program, and accelerate the creation of a Digital Transport and Customs Office were highlighted as steps that will serve to develop international cooperation. Deputies acknowledged that the initiatives put forward at the summit would take ECO’s activities to a new level.

The following item on the agenda was the draft law “On introducing amendments and addenda to certain legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the improvement of the privatization sphere of state property”, which was considered in the second reading.

During the discussions, faction members noted that the processes of privatizing state property are being simplified, barriers are being removed, and additional conveniences are being provided to entrepreneurs to accelerate the transfer of idle and inefficiently used assets, including non-core assets of enterprises with state participation, to the private sector.

The draft law’s provision granting tax benefits on property and land tax to entrepreneurs who purchase state-owned real estate under installment payment terms was supported.

According to deputies, the draft law will contribute to creating an attractive investment climate in the country, reducing the tax burden on business entities, and improving the privatization sphere of state property.

Following extensive discussions, the draft law was approved.
