Signature sheets have been submitted to the CEC
PRESS RELEASE As previously reported, on July 27, at a meeting of the Political Council of UzLiDeP, a decision was made on the active participation of the party in the elections to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and regional, district and city Councils of people’s deputies. The Central Election Commission registered the authorized representative of UzLiDeP. He was given signature sheets of the established form for collecting signatures of voters supporting the party’s participation in the elections to the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and regional, district, and city Councils of people’s deputies.
After this, trainings were organized with the participation of representatives of all regional councils of the party, deputies, grassroots-level members, and party activists, during which explanations were given on the correct filling of signature sheets. The collection of signatures was organized in densely populated areas, at work, service, study, and citizens’ residences. About 15 thousand primary organizations of the party were active in the event. Working groups created under regional party organizations were appointed to collect voters’ signatures.
It should be noted that according to the law, to participate in the elections, political parties must collect the signatures of forty thousand voters in one administrative-territorial entity (Republic of Karakalpakstan, region, city of Tashkent). A political party can collect no more than eight percent of the total signatures. UzLiDeP collected the number of signatures determined by law.
During the signature collection process, voters noted the party’s significant achievements in developing entrepreneurship, providing comprehensive support to youth and women, improving legislation, and solving problems raised during open dialogues with voters. It was also noted that UzLiDeP is participating in the parliamentary elections this year with a new strategy. It has set a goal of visiting more than 3 million households and studying their problems.
Signature sheets collected in the regions were accepted by a special employee of the Executive Committee of the Political Council of the party, who transferred them to the Central Election Commission through the electronic platform “E Saylov”.
Shortly, the Central Election Commission will conduct a thorough review of the submitted documents and issue a conclusion on their compliance with the requirements of the law, ensuring a fair and transparent election process.
According to the law, based on the submitted documents, the Central Election Commission will decide to admit the party to participate in the elections within five days. The list of parties participating in the polls will be published in the republican press in the order of receipt of applications.
