A regular meeting of the UzLiDeP faction in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis was held. The discussion focused on the importance of the video conference chaired by the President on May 15 this year, dedicated to priority tasks for further improving the effectiveness of reforms in the school education system.

It was noted that in recent years, under the leadership of the President, large-scale measures have been implemented to reform the education sector and adapt it to modern requirements, to create the necessary conditions for young people to receive quality education, and to strengthen the material and technical base of the system. In particular, over the past seven years, funding for preschool and school education has increased sevenfold, with 60 trillion UZS allocated this year.

Faction members, commenting on the significance of this meeting, noted that the essential tasks set for developing the sector and taking it to a new stage would serve to improve the quality and effectiveness of education, raise the prestige of teachers and educators, and help the younger generation acquire modern knowledge and skills.

Deputies emphasized that the UzLiDeP election program also identifies as a priority the guarantee of fully meeting the demand for preschool education and doubling the average salaries of pedagogical staff in preschool and general secondary education institutions. Proceeding from this, they stressed that the party and its parliamentary faction would actively participate in ensuring the implementation of the tasks set.

“The force that makes a country powerful and a nation great is science, education, and upbringing – this is an undeniable truth”, said UzLiDeP faction leader Aktam Khaitov. “The implementation of the important initiatives put forward by our Head of State places great responsibility on us, the deputies. We will pay special attention to increasing the effectiveness of reforms in this area and consistently improving the legal framework of the sector”.

The meeting also covered the results of seminars held with local council deputies on the procedure for setting raising and lowering coefficients for land tax and rental payments in districts and cities.

In conclusion, appropriate decisions were adopted on all the issues discussed.
