Today, the plenary session of the Fourth Tashkent International Investment Forum was held at the International Congress Center with the participation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

It was emphasized that in today’s challenging conditions, Uzbekistan has been focusing primarily on maintaining economic stability. Over the past eight years, our gross domestic product has doubled. By 2030, one of the priority goals is to increase this figure to $200 billion.

Last year, investment volume reached $35 billion, while exports rose to $27 billion – a practical outcome of the Tashkent International Investment Forum, which has been held for four consecutive years.

The results of reforms in New Uzbekistan are also being duly reflected in international rankings. Over the past five years, the country has risen by 48 places in the Economic Freedom Index and improved by 28 positions in Harvard’s Economic Complexity Index. Last month, the prestigious agency S&P raised Uzbekistan’s sovereign credit rating outlook from “stable” to “positive.”

In his address at this prestigious forum, the Head of State highlighted these practical reforms and put forward several critical joint initiatives. Among them were the transition to a green economy model, transforming digital technologies and artificial intelligence into drivers of the economy, recognizing the rapid changes in today’s financial systems and technologies, and noting that the Fourth Industrial Revolution is multiplying demand for technological minerals.

It was especially emphasized that all necessary measures are being taken to turn the principle “New Uzbekistan – a country of great opportunities for investment” into practical results, and that reliable rules ensuring equal conditions for every country in global production chains are essential.

In this regard, the special role of the World Trade Organization was highlighted, and it was noted that active work is underway with partners to achieve membership in the Organization next year. It was also acknowledged that all necessary steps are being taken to create an even more favorable environment for foreign investors in Uzbekistan. In particular, thanks to the open and friendly policy established in recent years with our neighbors, a completely new atmosphere of cooperation has emerged in Central Asia.

Overall, the forum will serve to make Uzbekistan a reliable, stable, and beneficial space for investors from the region and the world.
