By the end of the year, the flow of foreign tourists in Kashkadarya will reach 500,000, local tourists will reach 4 million, and the export of tourism services will reach $100 million
At the meeting of the UzLiDeP deputy group of Kashkadarya Regional Council of People’s Deputies, the report of the Deputy Hokim of Kashkadarya Region for Tourism, Culture, Cultural Heritage and Mass Communications – Head of the Main Directorate of Tourism was heard regarding the work being carried out on the establishment of new tourism directions, in particular, tourism villages, tourism, and gastronomic streets, pilgrimage tourism routes, recreation tourism networks in a beach, water, and desert areas, creation of thematic tourist zones and clusters in the region, the development of barrier-free tourism.
According to the report, the tourism industry is becoming one of the main drivers of the world economy today. In the last three years, due to the improvement of the tourism infrastructure and the opportunities created in the region, accommodation facilities have increased from 81 to 327, the number of places has risen to 5,500, and the number of tour operators has increased to 34. 93 out of 151 regional investment projects worth $105 million in tourism for 2023-2024 have been fully launched. 14,204 jobs were created in tourism and related sectors. In 2023, 2,109,000 domestic and 222,000 foreign tourists visited the region, and the export of tourism services reached $45 million.
The service of 7 types of tourist vehicles was launched, and 492 new jobs were created in tourism and related fields by implementing four investment projects with a total cost of 16 billion UZS. Tourist flights to Türkiye will be launched from June 4. Shakhrisabz lacked attractive destinations to attract more tourists. Now, a travel service on two 20-seater boats has been organized in the territory of Hisorak Reservoir, a new tourism route has been created, and 300 tourists are served daily.
Deputies Ismigul Khushmurodova, Islamiddin Abrorov, and others said that the development of ecotourism in the oasis has a good effect, but the cement plant built in Kitab has a severe impact on the environment, the indifference of officials, the lack of conditions for people with disabilities to visit ancient places, the need for repair of internal roads, that there is not enough work to increase attractive destinations to attract tourists to the oasis.
