The age-old friendship of the Uzbek and Kyrgyz peoples has reached a new level
The President of the Kyrgyz
Republic Sadyr Zhaparov, who visited Uzbekistan at the invitation of President
Shavkat Mirziyoyev, emphasized that good ground has been created for the
radical expansion of multilateral cooperation for the long-term perspective. There
is no doubt that the signing of the Joint Statement on Deepening and Expanding
Comprehensive Strategic Partnership will bring bilateral relations to a higher
level.
The most gratifying aspect is
that the trade volume will reach $2 billion in the next few years. This means
that if we give what we have to our Kyrgyz brothers, they will provide us with
products that we do not have. This cooperation is the greatest virtue of close
neighborliness. Focusing on another issue, priority was given to the speedy
implementation of regional projects of strategic importance, including the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan
railway and Kambarata HPP-1 construction.
This is a significant issue
for the people of the two countries, and both parties are equally interested in
signing the agreement. It is known that both Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan are
members of several international and regional organizations. In particular, it
was noted at the meeting that close cooperation will be continued within the
framework of the UN, SCO, Organization of Turkic States, the Consultative
Meeting of Central Asian Leaders, and other multilateral arenas. First,
specific measures to increase the volume of trade to support import
substitution programs and cooperation projects were discussed.
The signing of the tripartite
agreement on the strategic project to construct the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan
railway was a historic event in this regard. Active exchanges will continue in
culture, youth, tourism, education, science, and sports. All this is a pleasant
event for us.
If we are friendly with the neighboring countries, do not spare each other’s help, and do not forget on good and troubled days, such cooperation will undoubtedly bring positive results. Indeed, the high-level meeting of the leaders of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan will be an essential step towards the prospects and development of the two nations.
