UzLiDeP deputy donates books to his former school

Obidjon Hamidov, Chairman of Bukhara Regional Council of UzLiDeP and a deputy of the Regional Council of People’s Deputies, visited Secondary School No. 1 in Gijduvan district, where he studied.

During the visit, the “One Thousand Books in One Day” campaign was conducted as part of UzLiDeP’s nationwide “Together with the People” initiative. During this campaign, an UzLiDeP deputy donated 200 books to the school library.

“Books are a source of knowledge and enlightenment, while educated young people are a strong foundation for our country’s future”, says UzLiDeP deputy O. Hamidov. “That is why our party pays particular attention to enriching the libraries of educational institutions, encouraging young people to read, and fostering their interest in acquiring modern knowledge. Our party’s ‘One Thousand Books in One Day’ campaign is also a constructive initiative aimed at fostering a reading culture and raising knowledgeable young people with a broad outlook”.

Following the event, teachers shared their views on ways to increase students’ interest in reading, broaden their horizons, and develop their ability to think independently.
