Studying public concerns and business opportunities in Karakalpakstan

A working group comprising deputies of the UzLiDeP faction in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and representatives of the party’s Political Council’s Executive Committee is studying reform implementation, issues affecting the population, and progress in entrepreneurship and agriculture in the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
As part of studies under the party’s nationwide “Together with the People” program, the party is focusing on reducing poverty, ensuring employment, addressing social issues, improving agricultural efficiency, and creating a favorable agribusiness environment in the regions. One of the first locations visited was the Diykan Arna mahalla in Nukus district. The mahalla has 34 business entities, and crops have been planted on 58 of its 59 hectares of household land.
During the study, particular attention was also paid to efforts to support socially vulnerable groups. In particular, issues related to supporting 107 women included in the “Women’s Register”, 49 elderly people living alone, and 86 persons with disabilities were considered, including efforts to ensure their employment and expand their sources of income. The deputies also became familiar with the activities of entrepreneur Bakhtiyor Jumaboyev, who is engaged in beekeeping, and studied his beehive production workshop, honey-packaging process, and production capacity. Notably, the entrepreneur produces around 100 beehives a year and shares his experience with young people.
For UzLiDeP deputies, such studies are important mainly to assess the practical results of reforms at the local level and find solutions to issues affecting the population. Practical measures will be developed jointly with the responsible organizations to address the identified problems, and their implementation will be monitored. After all, the essence of the “Together with the People” principle is to visit mahallas, listen to people’s concerns, and deliver tangible results.
