Another resolution confirming human interests is the main goal of reforms being carried out in the country

Currently, Uzbekistan is carrying out significant work on ensuring the rights and legitimate interests of a person, guaranteeing the rights outlined by international legal norms. A number of decrees and resolutions of the President were adopted on the issues of ensuring the rule of law, guaranteeing the independence of courts, and increasing the role of lawyers in society.

Movement of Entrepreneurs and Businessmen – the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan, along with these important decrees and resolutions, believes that the resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on liquidation of the 19th specialized penal colony of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Karakalpakstan located on Jaslik area has also become historic. In recent years, the name of this colony has been used as a common noun not only in our country, but also far beyond its borders. For many years, it was not in vain that international organizations for the protection of human rights appealed to the country’s leadership with a request to close the colony. By signing the resolution, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev once again practically proved that in our country the rights and freedoms of citizens have a central place in the current policy, the interests of a person are under his close attention and any action directed against them is punished. With the signing of the resolution, many foreign public figures supported it, which once again proved the importance of this document.

Ensuring the rule of law in society, the reforms carried out in the judicial system for ensuring the rights and freedoms of citizens contribute to strengthening public relations with government, law enforcement agencies, strengthening citizenship and respect for the law in society. All this helps to ensure the norms outlined in the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan on “construction of a humane, democratic state of law”.
